Process Controller - Energy (Grade 10/HRL13)

Sappi Ngodwana seeks to place a Process Controller to operate the PF Boiler, Turbines, Compressors, Demin Plant and associated auxiliary equipment on a shift basis. The successful candidate must ensure optimum production output with the required quality and minimum downtime, whilst maintaining extremely high safety standards.

REPORTING TO the Shift Superintendent - Energy


  • To  operate of PF Boiler, Turbines, Compressors, Demin Plant and auxiliary equipment
  • Perform shift handover with utilization of electronic reporting systems
  • Create a safe working environment by identifying and managing risks
  • Optimise plant performance with maximum uptime
  • Ensure key quality parameters are maintained within specification
  • Record and ensure priority maintenance notifications are attended to
  • Optimise plant status within any constraints (raw materials, and services)
  • Ensure corrective action on all non- conformances
  • Perform tasks as per production schedules released on SAP
  • Execute non-routine activities of shuts, start-ups and stops
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices within area of responsibility with objective to achieve 5S status
  • Train future incumbent Process Controllers
  • Update best operating practice

  • Relevant post Matric Certificate / Diploma / NQF Level 5
  • Power plant red/silver seal accreditation would be advantageous
  • 3 Years' experience in a Production Environment or completed PF Boiler License.
