LOCATION: Stanger Mill

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The incumbent in this position assists the Winderman in efficient operation of the winder, according to best operating practices and ISO standards to achieve maximum productivity and in compliance with quality and safety.

REPORTING TO PRODUCTION FOREMAN (TISSUE)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cut cores and ensure adequate supply of the correct sizes
  • Loads core shaft and unloads winder of completed set by using winder crane
  • Feeds paper through winder and fixes the cores
  • Load loose broke into trolley
  • Assist in cutting cores
  • Assist in cling wrapping reels
  • Load cores onto shaft
  • Inspect quality of webs
  • Separate webs and transfer into Warehouse
  • Act as Assistant Winderman during his absence
  • Assists with Tissue Machine start up and shuts
  • Carries out other reasonable duties/tasks as requested by supervision
  • Reduces wastes / Prevents spills
  • Complies with hazardous chemical handling procedure and environmental legal requirements
  • Understand & comply with all SHEQ requirements of the job.
  • Carries out BBS Observations
  • Maintains a high level of good housekeeping in the workplace at all times

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • N1 Pulp & Paper and 2 subjects N2 Pulp & Paper or NQF Level 4 Paper Board or NCV L3 Pulp and Paper
  • One (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably paper production
  • Crane Drivers License
